"So special"- Nebraska Volleyball's Harper Murray makes her feelings known with a heartfelt message as she shares coach John Cook's 8-year-old letter

Nebraska Volleyball's Harper Murray expressed her thoughts with a heartfelt message as she shared a letter written to her by coach John Cook eight years ago. The American volleyball player became nostalgic as she reflected on her journey as an athlete.

Murray recently concluded her season after the Huskers' lost in the semi-finals of the NCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championships. Murray and the team received great praise from fans for their incredible performances throughout the NCAA season. During the post-match press conference after Nebraska Volleyball's final-four loss, the players shed light on the major role played by coach John Cook in bringing the team together and assisting in putting forward dominant performances every time they stepped on the court.

Weeks after the conclusion of the NCAA Division 1 volleyball season, Harper Murray took to Instagram to share some words of encouragement written by coach John Cook when she was just 11 years old after a volleyball camp. Cook praised Murray's learning ability and called her one the best 'athletes' he had coached.

"Found this letter that the coach had written to me 8 years ago. Just had to share this, it is so special," she wrote.

The letter dated 7/10/16 read:

"Harper - Thank you for coming to camp. One of the best learners I have coached. Know that you will always have a locker at Nebraska. Hope you can see a match here sometime - Until then dream big! PS: You look great in red--John."

Harper Murray penned an emotional note for her Nebraska Volleyball teammates after their heartbreaking final-four loss. She reflected on her incredible bond with her teammates and shared how their encouragement through tough times has been the biggest gift that she received on being a part of the team.

"I have never been more proud. This group of girls helped me find a smile that I thought was gone forever and I am so damn proud. Being surrounded by people who refuse to give up on you and stay by your side is the biggest gift of all time," she wrote via espnW.
"I love this team with all of my heart and am forever grateful for every memory we have together. Volleyball isnt about wins, losses, kills, stats...its about finding the positive and being proud of the growth we have made as people and to enjoy what we did together. gbr forever see u next year," she added.

Furthermore, she thanked the fans for the incredible support throughout the season and hoped to make a stronger comeback in the next season.
