India will begin their challenge at the 2018 Winter Olympics shortly and representing the tri-colour at the prestigious event will be the duo of Shiva Keshavan and Jagdish Singh. The recently concluded Opening Ceremony saw Shiva Keshavan, who was given the honour of being the flag bearer, walking out all smiles.
The Indian contingent may not seem strong on paper, but it includes the country's most prolific Winter Olympic athlete in Keshavan who will be competing in the Luge event at the Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. Keshavan will enter his sixth Winter Olympic Games this time around, with his debut in the tournament coming way back in 1998 as a youngster in Japan.
Now at 36, this will realistically be the final opportunity for the decorated athlete to bring home a satisfactory performance. His best ever Olympic performance was the 25th place finish at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games and this will be his last chance to better that.
Joining Keshavan is Jagdish Singh who will compete in the cross-country freestyle skiing event at the Games.
Nonetheless, while expectations remain minimal, optimism is high as the two athletes get the ball rolling in PyeongChang and mount India's challenge. India's biggest threat will have to be Shiva Keshavan, with all his years of experience and sheer expertise in the Luge category and if you fancy checking out the Indian's performance at the Games, here is where you need to look:
