Eric Thibault, born on 22 August 1987 now serves as the head coach of the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. before starting coaching Thibault was a member of the practice squad of the Missouri Tigers women's basketball team. However, after two years, he decided to stop playing and shift to a coaching role, eventually becoming an assistant coach for the team. He later gained experience by assisting other teams, including working under Kim Barnes Arico with the St. John's Red Storm women's basketball team. After earning his coaching degree, Thibault's first professional job was as an assistant coach for the VCU Rams women's basketball team. In May 2013, Thibault seized the opportunity to join the Washington Mystics as an assistant coach, marking his entry into the WNBA.
After six years, working as an assistant In 2019, Thibault was promoted to Associate Head Coach of team Mystics. While serving as an assistant, Thibault achieved 8 playoff appearances, including back-to-back WNBA Finals appearances in 2018 and 2019. His biggest achievement came in 2019 when he helped the team secure their first WNBA Championship in franchise history. By November 2022, he had taken the reins as the 14th head coach of the Mystics franchise history. Unfortunately in the 2023-24 season, the Mystics' performance was not up to mark as a result team standing in the button of the Eastern Conference.
