Nate Tibbetts Wife

The Former American basketball player Nate Tibbetts is currently the head coach of the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. He was born in 1976 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA. Tibbetts began his basketball career at Roosevelt High School before playing for the South Dakota Coyotes men's basketball team. After graduating from the University of South Dakota, Tibbetts started his coaching career.

Tibbetts's first position was as an assistant coach for the Sioux Falls Cougars basketball team. In 2005, Tibbetts was appointed assistant coach for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the NBA G League team affiliated with the Miami Heat. In 2009, he got a major break and became the head coach of the Tulsa 66ers. Over his two seasons with the Tulsa 66ers, he compiled a record of 64-41 and led the team to the playoffs back-to-back years. After coaching the G League, Tibbetts was promoted to NBA teams and appointed as assistant coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. From there he did an assistant coaching job for two more NBA teams Portland Trailblazer and Orlando Magic. Tibbetts became head of the Phoenix Mercury in 2024.

Micki and Fred Tibbetts are the parents of Nate Tibbetts. Nate Tibbetts has a younger brother named Luke Tibbetts who was a basketball player at Sioux Falls Roosevelt High School and played for the University of South Dakota at the college level. His father was a legendary figure in high school girls' basketball. Over his 29-season career, Fred achieved over 550 victories and guided Roosevelt to a state-record 111-game winning streak. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, his leadership brought the team six Class AA state championships. Fred died in 2008.
