Asian Games and Commonwealth Games silver medallist Bajrang has qualified in the 61-kilogram free style category for the 2015 World Wrestling Championship to be held in Las Vegas in the United States from September 7-12.
The final trial for the category was conducted by the Wrestling Federation of India at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) training centre on Tuesday. Bajrang defeated Sonu 4-0.
Bajrang, who had won the bronze medal in the 2013 World Wrestling Championship said, "I am feeling better now and during the past few days I have worked hard on my back injury. I have already won bronze medal in the World Championship but this time my target will be to win gold and qualify for Rio Olympic Games 2016. We still have a month left for the World Championship and our coaches are working hard in every area."
In the women's 53 kg category, 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Babita Kumari beat Nirmala Devi 6-2 to book her berth for the championships.
