First Elimination Chamber Match, Survivor Series 2002

The first Elimination Chamber match in WWE was held at the Survivor Series event in 2002. Triple H defended his World Heavyweight Championship in this match against Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michaels, Booker T, Kane and Chris Jericho. The match started with Booker T and Rob Van Dam. Superstars entered the ring in 5 minute intervals. Rob Van Dam was eliminated first. Booker T, Kane and Chris Jericho followed suit and it came down to the Triple H and Shawn Michaels. Shawn Michaels pulled off the victory and became the first Elimination Chamber match winner. The curiosity and interest generated during this one-of-kind match was unmatched and paved way for more such matches. Since then, 13 elimination chamber matches have taken place but the first one would be remembered forever.
