Breaking: Several WWE Superstars Released On Friday

Yet another Friday turned out to be ‘black friday’ for several WWE Superstars and Divas who were confirmed to be released from the company.

The details of the released wrestlers is given below:

1. Melina Perez:

An Experienced WWE diva who has been a multi-time Divas Champion. Her last match in the WWE was the Divas Battle Royal this past Monday on Raw.

“WWE has come to terms on the release of Melina Perez as of today, August 5, 2011. WWE wishes Melina the best in all her future endeavors.”

Regarding her release, Melina Tweeted,

“Feel free to Tweet, write, call @WWE about how u feel about anything. You deserve to be heard regarding any matter. Strength in numbers. I’ve been through quite a bit of stuff in my life. I Overcame each time. I’ll never give up. Not now. I’ll Always fight & #StayStrong”

It should be noted that Melina is the real life girlfriend of WWE Superstar John Morrison who commented on her release by tweeting,

“I’ve always believed that Melina is the most talented Diva ever employed by World Wrestling Entertainment.”

Her accomplishments in the WWE:

• WWE Divas Championship (2 times)
• WWE Women’s Championship (3 times)

2. Vladimir Kozlov

Kozlov’s last appearance was on the August 5 episode of Smackdown, losing to Mark Henry in a squash match. The same day, it was announced that Kozlov had been released from the WWE.

His Accomplishments in the WWE:

• WWE Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Santino Marella
• Slammy Award for Breakout Star of the Year (2008)

3. Chris Masters

Chris Masters second departure from the WWE has come today. He already left WWE in 2007 due to charges of Drug usage. His last match was with Jack Swagger on WWE Superstars.

Official statement from Chris “Masters” Mordetzky regarding his WWE release today:

“Obviously, I’m surprised by the move. But I’m optimistic. I’m going to move forward and see what lies ahead. I still love this business and I’m not going to give up because of this small set back. I want to explore and see what options I have for the future.”

4. David Hart Smith

David Hart Smith wasn’t active over the last few months. He was last seen in the Pre Wrestlemania 27 battle royal. He is the son of The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith and nephew of Bret “The Hitman” Hart.

His accomplishments in the WWE:

• World Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Tyson Kidd
• WWE Tag Team Championship (1 time) – with Tyson Kidd

5. Gail Kim

Gail Kim announced he departure from the WWE on twitter by tweeting,

“Hey I just wanted every1 to know that I officially quit WWE on monday. So thank u wwe fans! This won’t be the last on this day”

Her last match was the Divas Battle Royal on Raw this past monday. She also had been underused by the WWE for the past year.
