Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE. Well not really, but he is back in WWE ’12 the video game which hits stores November 22nd for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii systems. Although he will never return to the squared circle full time, he did say the following in regards to a one time only WWE return…
“I think under the right circumstances I will (have one last match),” Lesnar told ESPN’s Jon Robinson. “I think if Vince McMahon and I were able to sit down at the same dinner table and break some bread that we could come up with some kind of game plan. At the end of the day, I’m an ultimate fighter. That’s who I am and that’s who I’ll always be. I was an entertainer but at the end of the day, I’m still as real as it gets. I think a lot of things have to fall in the right places for something like that to happen.”
That’s pretty cool of Lesnar. I’ve never been a fan of his from the time he entered the WWE. I have felt like he was an overgrown entitled child while wrestling for Vince McMahon, and I was thrilled when he got a Stone Cold Stunner at WrestleMania XX and went away for good.
That being said, the fact that he is open to finishing his legacy in a better fashion than his WrestleMania XX train wreck against Goldberg is music to my ears. If you haven’t ever seen that match, don’t waste the 7 minutes. Austin as the special guess referee was the only thing that saved that disaster from total humiliation.
I’ve never understood why guys like Lesnar can’t do both. Nobody would ever ask him to work a John Cena like schedule, but he is an MMA guy, and I respect that. Lesnar has a must win coming up at UFC 141 vs Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem. His loss to Cain Velasquez & a second bout of diverticulitis have made this an important fight for Lesnar’s MMA future. Having said that, even if he loses to Overeem, he would still sell a ton of tickets if he worked WrestleMania XXVIII in Miami. Once he breaks bread with Vinny Mac, hopefully a deal can be reached to bring Lesnar back for one more match. And even though he would like to wrestle the Texas rattlesnake, there is only one legitimate option for “The Next Big Thing” to wrestle if Dana White lets it happen (which is unlikely, but go with me here)…

There is too much money to be made for this not to happen. Make it happen, Brock.
