Indy News: Vader wins his match against Will Ospreay at Revolution Pro Uprising

Vader beat Will Ospreay.

Three-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader, after Will Ospreay’s and Richochet’s match on New Japan’s Best of the Super Juniors Tournament, went on Twitter to convey his displeasure with their match. Vader’s gripe with the two pro-wrestlers was that their match lacked any sort of story-telling, and said that any gymnast could do what they did in the ring.

This resulted in both Will Ospreay and Ricochet speaking their minds against Vader

Ricochet wrote a long message and posted it on Twitter, while Will Ospreay during his match with Speedball Mike Bailey on Revolution Pro Wrestling’s sold out York event, replied to Vader in his own way by doing the back flip pose spot during the match, which was the reason Vader went to rant on Twitter, and then also performed a Vader bomb on Mike Bailey. After his match Will Ospreay cut a promo directing towards his detractors in the IWC:

"I want to address something and it's not about what time it is. I tell you what, you know what time it is? It's time to get with the times! The IWC wants to say Ospreay doesn't tell any stories. Now I don't know why they'd want a dyslexic kid to read them Harry Potter...."

After several back and forth’s on Twitter between Vader, and Ospreay a match was set between them on Revolution Pro Uprising event. After the match was set, it was made clear that the entire thing was being turned into an angle, but they still tried to keep it as legit as possible.

The initial 8 minutes of the match:-

Sadly, the entire video of the match is not available as of now on the internet but Joe Lenon of F4Wonline.com said, and I quote,

Both guys fought up the ramp, leading to security getting involved. It was being booked as if Vader was shooting on the officials and the crowd really bought into it. Vader chokeslammed Ospreay through the announce table. Ospreay sold this for a long time, but as security restrained Vader, Ospreay did a dive from the ramp on top of Vader and the security team.

Crowd was molten by this point, and as it looked like Ospreay was about to pick up the win, Pete Dunne interfered. He took out Ospreay and shook hands with Vader. This led to Ricochet interfering, first taking out Dunne, and then double-teaming Vader with Ospreay. This played into how the Vader/Ospreay feud originally began after Vader's Twitter comments criticizing Ospreay vs. Ricochet at NJPW's Best of the Super Juniors.

Vader kicked out of both guys maneuvers to the surprise of the crowd. Dunne then got involved again. Vader followed by chokeslamming Ospreay twice and scoring the win.

Joe Lenon further mentions that as the feud was not supposed to look like an angle and had to make it seem like a real legit fight, the following happened as mentioned by Joe Lenon,

The crowd was shocked at the ending. Ospreay cut a promo, referring to it as a "pipe bomb" as he sat in the middle of the ring. Ospreay cut a great promo, seeming genuinely pissed off about doing the job. He cryptically implied that Vader refused to lose the match as he spoke about egos in wrestling.

To be really honest even though the whole thing started off as a legit real-life issue between two people on Twitter, to turn it into an angle for a match just tells you about the genius of the people who succeeded in doing it and props to them for that. What are your thoughts people? Would you like to see a Vader vs. Ospreay rematch? Tell us your thoughts by writing in the “Comments” below.
