During the 20/2/2012 episode of Monday Night Raw, John Cena delivered one of the best promo’s of his career. Fresh off his Elimination Chamber victory over Kane in an Ambulance match, Cena turned the attention towards his Wrestlemania opponent, The Rock. He fired the first salvo of what is going to be a huge build-up to a once in a generation match-up.
John Cena kicked off the show addressing his situation with Eve. It was during this segment that he began his tirade against the Rock. He called both Eve and The Rock as ‘Two Dirty Bitches’. One has to wonder what The Rock is gonna come up with to better this. Later in the show, Cena did a worked shoot promo which may not have matched the standard’s that CM Punk had set. But it was an interesting promo to say the least. Watch John Cena’s best promo in this video:

A great promo in my opinion. He is being portrayed as a face in this feud and he managed to woo some haters into his bandwagon with this scripted promo. I mean, some people are still at odds with the Rock leaving the WWE about 8 years ago. Some are annoyed with his intermittent appearances. John Cena used the occasion as the perfect pitch to turn the crowd into his favor. He used some strong words while talking about the Rock. He ridiculed himself by talking about his failed acting career. He even went to the extent of accusing The Rock for using his WWE return to get more twitter followers and promoting ‘Fast Five’. Usually, I get annoyed by Cena promo’s in the past, but this one was a gem. The main reason being the fact that he stuck with the facts. He spoke nothing but the reality and did not exaggerate it. Even legendary WWE Commentator Jim Ross hailed John Cena’s promo in his blog. He said,
“John Cena delivered the best promo of his career in my opinion when addressing the Rock and their long awaited WM28 main event. Cena spoke from the heart and I’m certain meant every word that he said. Cena’s words stepped away from the world of entertainment and squarely into reality or so it seemed to me.”
What Cena has achieved courtesy of this promo is the backing of his sympathizers who have been in his side in the past but began to desolate him in the recent past. He has managed to rekindle the interest in this feud which had lost steam over the last few months. Like every other pro-wrestling enthusiast, I’m also eagerly awaiting The Rock’s rebuttal to John Cena in the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw Supershow on 27/2/2012 at Portland, Oregan.
