- Punk comments on Match with Bryan: WWE‘s RAW brand has returned to the United States after wrapping shows in Spain. WWE Champion CM Punk wrote the following about his main events against Daniel Bryan:“Another tour in the books. If you saw any of the main events over the last four days, you saw something special. #hardwork”- Sheamus‘s PPV Opponent: WWE officials brainstormed alternative scenarios Friday in case Del Rio is unable to wrestle Sheamus at No Way Out on June 17.
Alberto Del Rio is apparently recovering from a concussion he suffered last week and his World Heavyweight Title match against Sheamus at No Way Out is in jeopardy. Del Rio did not compete at last night’s SmackDown live event in Salisbury, Maryland as Sheamus defended against the winner of Kane vs. The Great Khali.
WWE will be addressing the situation on Monday’s three-hour RAW Supershow where a new pay-per-view opponent for Sheamus will likely be named.
- Kelly Kelly offered New Contract: Following reports that Kelly Kelly was accepting endorsements and appearance requests during her hiatus from the WWE ring, organization officials offered the Raw Diva a new contract with a pay raise. - WWE purchases Video Library: WWE has acquired the Watts video library which consists of Mid-South Wrestling, Mid-South’s Power Pro Wrestling TV and the original Universal Wrestling Federation. The library was owned by Bill Watts’ ex-wife Ene as part of a divorce settlement and was the largest known video collection now owned by WWE.WWE has held numerous meetings and made several attempts to purchase the library but the two sides never were able to come to terms until now. WWE wanted the additional footage in their archives as they plan for the WWE Network to launch.
There are already plans to do a DVD documentary on Mid-South as well. There are also discussions about doing DVD’s on Ted DiBiase, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Junkyard Dog, all who were major stars for Mid-South.
- R-Truth Injury News: As Prevoiusly Noted, It has been confirmed byPWInsider.com that WWE Tag Team Champion R-Truth either severely sprained or broke his foot last week. He did not go on the Raw brand’s tour of Spain-Kofi Kingston partnered with Zack Ryder and Brodus Clay at events.
- Tensai Teased for Raw with Mr McMohan: WWE is teasing that John Laurinaitis will put Tensai in action this Monday night on RAW (11 June 2012) to impress Vince McMahon. They wrote:
“The dominant Tensai suffered his first defeat last week against John Cena, but his interference during the Cena-Michael Cole match that followed shows the expatriate Superstar has no intention of letting the loss slow him down. Tensai has been a favorite of John Laurinaitis’, and “Big Johnny” will likely want Mr. McMahon to see his handpicked enforcer in action this week. The only question remains, who will he face?”
