JBL contacted to replace Jerry Lawler?

Late last night, PWInsider reported that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was in Boston for the upcoming Night of Champions pay-per-view. They didn’t confirm this but speculated that Ross was there to replace Jerry Lawler on commentary.

F4Wonline.com also reported early this morning that former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield had been contacted by WWE, and that they had reached an agreement for him to do the commentary for Night of Champions and tomorrow’s RAW.

Dave Meltzer then speculated that this could be JBL coming back for more than just two appearances. For what it’s worth, JBL is set to go to Africa in a week to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro for his Seven Summits campaign.
