No Way Out 2012: Odds, Wants, & Predictions

No Way Out is almost upon us, and though it is destined to end WWE‘s streak of amazing PPV’s, there are still a few things to look forward too (WWE Championship match, Christian vs. Rhodes, Sheamus vs. Ziggler). It’s time for me to give you the odds for each match, my personal wants for each match, and of course my actual predictions. Let’s get underway.

Brodus Clay vs. David Otunga (Pre-Show)
Odds: Brodus Clay has a 1-2 chance of winning, David Otunga has a 1-5 chance of winning.
Want: Even though I harp on Brodus for being (in my opinion) a lame character and having uninteresting matches, I want him to win. Not because I don’t like David Otuna (I do), but because it just makes to most sense.
Prediction: Brodus Clay wins with the Body Splash in under 3 minutes.
Santino Marella vs. Ricardo Rodriguez (Tuxedo Match)
Odds: Santino Marella has a 1-2 chance of winning, Ricardo Rodriguez has a 1-4 chance of winning.
Want: A better United States Champion. But, seeing as I can’t get that, I’ll go with a Santino victory. The United States Championship is at it’s lowest point in years, and even though Santino winning won’t bring any credibility to it, at least it will make the champion look strong (sorta).
Prediction: Santino wins, Ricardo is wearing another article of embarrassing clothing.
John Cena vs. Big Show
Odds: John Cena has a 1-2 chance of winning, Big Show has a 1-4 chance of winning.
Want: Once again, I am forced to choose between two competitors I don’t like in a match I don’t want. But if I were to have it my way, I would give Big Show the win. Big Show needs to look like a monster, and Cena needs some well deserved time off. Also, let’s get rid of the pinning, submissions, and whole escape through the door thing. It makes the Steel Cage match lame.
Prediction: Cena wins by a fluke (such as Big Show throwing him through the cage wall), making Big Show look strong, Laurinaitis lose his job, and Cena still an employee.
Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix (Divas Championship Match)
Odds: Layla has a 1-6 chance of winning, Beth Phoenix has a 1-2.
Want: I shall want this every PPV until it happens. Phoenix wins, Kharma returns
Prediction: Layla wins, nothing happens.
Christian (c) vs. Cody Rhodes (Intercontinental Championship Match)
Odds: Christian has a 1-2 chance of winning, Cody Rhodes has a 1-5 chance of winning.
Want: As a fan of both men, I would want the outcome to benefit both. That’s why Cody would need to take a loss. Christian could continue to build up the credibility of the Intercontinental Championship, and Cody could move on to the main event. I also want a good 15 minutes from these two. Given the right amount of time, they could have match of the night.
Prediction: Christian wins after hitting the Killswitch/Frog Splash combo, match is under 10 minutes.
Sheamus (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
Odds: Sheamus has a 1-2 chance of winning, Dolph Ziggler has a 1-9 chance of winning.
Want: As much as I don’t like Sheamus as champion, and as much as I love Dolph Ziggler, it would make absolutely no sense for Dolph (who’s taken two losses to Sheamus in the past two weeks) to win the championship here. All I want is for them to put on one hell of a match (and Sheamus to win).
Prediction: Sheamus wins with the Brogue Kick after a great 15 minute match.
CM Punk vs. Kane vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship Match)
Odds: CM Punk has a 1-6 chance of winning, Daniel Bryan has a 1-2 chance of winning, Kane has a 1-6 chance of winning.
Want: As much awesomeness that is CM Punk, I would like Daniel Bryan to win the title by pinning Kane. This would extend the feud hopefully to SummerSlam, and we would get to see more Punk/Bryan matches (instead of the rumoured Big Show/Punk SummerSlam match).
Prediction: In what is no doubt the hardest match to predict, I believe (after thinking long and hard about it) that Bryan is going to pick up the victory. The major wild card in the match is crazy little AJ, and I think her allegiances won’t be fully revealed at No Way Out, but she will play a huge role in the decision. I think that after planting another kiss on the Big Red Monster, Daniel Bryan will take advantage and roll Kane up to win the WWE Championship.
