The groom to be, Satyawat, first came to the spotlight in the 2013 World Youth Wrestling Championship Games in Sofia, Bulgaria. He then made the headlines by grabbing the silver medal in the 97 Kg in the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.
In the 2010 Youth Olympics, he represented India for the first time and won a bronze medal in his debut itself. Satyawart was the only Indian medallist at Sofia in 2013. He also won a bronze medal for India in the 2014 Asian Wrestling Championship.
Satyawat has been training under his Arjuna award-winning father at an akhara in Rohtak while Sakshi is settled in the same city, training at the Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium Wrestling Academy.

Sakshi, who has received the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for her performance in the Rio Olympics, came back to India to a rousing welcome. Speaking to the Hindustan Times, she mentioned how Satyawart's support has helped her in her career. “He is very supportive and thinks of my dreams as his own.”
Satyawart's father also spoke about how the pair would have to deal with their schedule,“They both are wrestlers so they have to chalk out dates out of their schedule of endless tournaments. So, we cannot say right now about the wedding.”
This news comes one week after the engagement of Olympic wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt to the daughter of a Congress leader. Both Sakshi and Satyawart belong to wrestling families and their marriage will definitely be successful.
