Well, it’s almost here. After 20 years, Raw is about to have it’s milestone 1000th episode. The show is already stacked, with Brock Lesnar, The Rock, a wedding, DX, and a WWE Championship match all scheduled. It’s time for me to get you all excited about Raw 1000 by previewing what will be taking place by taking a look into the past.
The Rock ReturnsIt wouldn’t be a celebration without the Rock, wouldn’t it? Rock, along with Steve Austin, was the corner stone of the Attitude Era, and has cemented himself as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in the ring. On top of that, the Rock was a part of what was the highest rated segment in Raw history, the classic “This Is Your Life”. Enjoy.
Mick Foley ReturnsSpeaking of the Rock, Mick Foley will also be making his return to Raw on Monday (even though it’s only been a few weeks). Although Mick Foley is a much more common sight nowadays than the Rock, it will no doubt still be a pleasure to see Ms. Foley’s Baby Boy, especially when his first ever world championship win was what helped Raw win the Monday Night Wars.
The Wedding of AJ and Daniel BryanOn Raw 1000, we will also get to see the nuptials of Daniel Bryan and AJ. As most know, wedding in the WWE never really go well. Even though a lot of people are excited for the wedding, it’s highly doubtful that it will top Stephanie McMahon’s wedding with Test.
Intercontinental Championship MatchAlthough it is not as anticipated as any other part of the show, expect Christian to put on a great match with whomever he is placed with.
Brock Lesnar Answers Triple H‘s SummerSlam Challenge
Well, WWE has been trying to save up Brock Lesnar’s limited amount of appearances, but it has already been confirmed that he will be on Raw to answer Triple H’s SummerSlam challenge. Seeing as Brock’s current run will likely be his last, I thought it would be good to look back at the next big thing’s Raw debut.
D-X ReunionTo kick things off, D-X will be reuniting on the beginning of Raw. Although it is unconfirmed whether it will just be Shawn Michaels and Triple H, or a few other members, D-X will be sure to start the show off in an exciting way.
WWE Championship MatchWell, it looks like we’ll get to see Cena vs. Punk again. Last year, the two men put on a fantastic trilogy of matches (one of which happened on Raw), and even though the storyline simmered down when Kevin Nash got involved, Punk vs. Cena is still one of the most memorable summer feuds of all time. Instead of showing you a previous Cena/Punk encounter, I thought I would show you two matches, one with Cena, and one with Punk, both with the WWE Championship involved.
The Start of a Huge Summer AngleIt is widely known that Vince McMahon has been putting a lot of pressure on the creative team to come up with a new angle for the summer, in the vain of the “Summer of Punk” or The Nexus. Expect something big to happen at the end of the show that will get every fan ready for SummerSlam.
