TNA has been dealing with financial problems for a while now. They had to shift their headquarters to a warehouse as they were unable to pay debts for the previous office. At times they were unable to clear the cash for weekly tapings. Several wrestlers left the company due to the financial problems. The not-so-interesting storylines are failing to attract strong viewership.
All these sums up to a terrible situation for the company and the President, Dixie Carter, is in the most troublesome situation. She is trying to negotiate with potential investors for the company and most of them are demanding creative control. Dixie is trying her best to retain majority ownership but she may have to lose it to keep the company alive.
Dailywrestlingnews.com reports that Sinclair Broadcasting, Ring of Honor’s parent company may be interested in purchasing TNA.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio mentions that there are several factors at play that may keep something from happening. Dixie wants to sale the company but still demands ownership rights.
Rumor is that Sinclair may re-brand The Tennis Channel as the American Sports Network hence making space for ROH, plus TNA.
