TNA Impact Result (September 13, 2012)

- We begin tonight with a video recap of No Surrender.

Mike Tenay welcomes us and says we are on the road to Bound For Glory and will address all of the fallout from Sunday.

Austin Aries’ music hits and he comes to the ring in a suit. He gets a nice chant and he thanks the fans. He holds up his title and says it is the reason everyone laces up their boots. He says he may not have unmasked Aces & 8′s but he took a piece out of their a**. He shifts his attention to Bound for Glory and he calls out Jeff Hardy to the ring.

Aries congratulates Hardy on his BFG Series win. Aries says while it may seem he has something Hardy wants, Hardy has many things Aries wants. Bully’s music hits and he comes to the ring.

Bully says they are both lucky: Aries because he doesn’t have to face Bully, and Hardy because Bully felt bad for him after Aces & 8′s attacked him and he took his eye off the ball for one second. Bully says he has been beating Hardy for 15 years. Aries interrupts and says Bully’s lucky because they last time they faced each other, Bully tapped out and Hardy beat him too. Aries says he and Hardy should fight again. Hardy takes off his shirt and Bully backs away out of the ring and retreats up the ramp.

- James Storm has arrived at the Impact Zone.

X-Division Championship: Zema Ion (c) vs. Sonjay Dutt

Tenay and Taz wish Jerry Lawler a speedy recovery. They go right at it and go back and forth. Dutt has his right shoulder taped-up and hits a nice head-scissor take-down on the outside. He rolls across the apron and hits another one, then a beautiful moonsault from the apron the floor. He sends Ion back in and springs in the ring for another head take-down. Dutt hits a hurricanrana for 2. Dutt is on fire. Ion hits a sunset flip and counters Dutt into a submission. Dutt rolls to put Ion on his back and gets 2. Dutt goes up top and moonsaults into a double foot-stomp and gets 2. Dutt goes back up top but Ion knocks him off and rolls him up in the corner for the win.

Winner by pin and STILL TNA X-Division Champion: Zema Ion

Ion gets back in the ring and hits Dutt in the back of the head with his can of hairspray and applies an armbreaker and lets go after a couple of seconds.

- Daniels sits with his feet up at Hogan’s desk and mocks Hogan as he holds up a photo of him. Kazarian is wearing a yellow Hulkamania shirt. Hogan comes in and tells them to relax. They give Hogan a glass of martini. Hogan says he is going to put the rematch in their hands, in single matches, and if they both win, they don’t have to give a rematch for the tag titles. They complain and Hogan leaves but not before he offers them protein bars from his drawer.

- Bobby Roode walks toward the ring.

AJ and Kurt Angle talk in the back about Daniels and Kazarian. Angle wonders if AJ can keep a straight head and win. AJ says he wants Kaz but if AJ can guarantee a win so they can have a shot at the tag titles then it is his. AJ guarantees it. Wes Brisco comes up and shakes hands with Angle. Angle tells him to come watch AJ because he is the best in the business.

- We go to a video of No Surrender and the finals of the BFG Series where Roode cost Storm the win against Bully.

We go to the ring and Bobby Roode comes to the ring. Roode says he’s “baaaack.” Roode says while he was home he had a chance to sit back and watch. The crowd chants, “Go back home!” Roode says Storm rode his coattails and wonders why Storm should get a title shot and not him. Storm’s music hits and he walks with a purpose as Roode removes his jacket. They go right at it and Storm lights him up and clotheslines him over the top. Storm chokes Roode out with his tie at ringside and drives him into the side of the stage.

We return and Christy Hemme announces Kazarian to the ring followed by AJ.

AJ Styles vs. Kazarian

AJ starts off with a decided advantage and knocks Kaz to the outside. He slings him back in and catches him in a Styles Clash attempt. AJ counters a suplex, lands on his feet and hits a nice dropkick. They fight on the outside.

Kazarian is in control in the corner. AJ catches a charging Kaz with a back breaker across his knee. Kaz tries to bring AJ in from the apron but AJ counters and drops Kaz on his head on the apron in a nasty looking move. AJ breaks the ref’s count and Kaz is able to take advantage. Back in the ring, Kaz gets 3 consecutive near-falls. AJ hits a couple of clotheslines a flying forearm in the corner. AJ springs off the top and flies over the ref’s head with a flying forearm to Kaz. AJ hits a Pele and a Styles Clash for the win.

Winner by pin: AJ Styles

- Hogan tells Brooke that he is going to find 2 bodyguards to be with her at all times. Joseph Park comes in to the office and says he has news on Aces & 8′s. Park says he is waiting on one piece of evidence that will be here next week and it will blow this case wide open. Hogan says he has to go to the ring and asks Park to watch Brooke while he’s gone.

Bully confronts Hardy in the locker room and says he should put up his shot at the heavyweight title against him. Hardy is silent with his eyes shut but of course he had eyeballs painted on his eyelids. Bully gets in his face and Hardy says he’s got a deal.

- We go to a video from last Sunday of the Aces & 8′s situation.Hulk Hogan comes to the ring. He puts-over the BFG Series and Jeff Hardy. He turns his attention to Aces & 8′s. Hogan says the Impact Zone is locked down from now and forever.

Aces & 8′s appear on the screen and the main guy asks Hogan if he locked them out or locked them in. He says he trusts his life with these men. He asks Hogan if he can say the same. He tells Hogan anybody, even the guy in the front row can be one of them, so Hogan better have his head on swivel. He says, “Checkmate.” Hogan looks slightly concerned.

- We get a replay of what just transpired between Hogan and Aces & 8′s.

Chavo and Hernandez talk about their loss on Sunday. Chavo is confident that he will beat Daniels to get another title shot.

Daniels vs. Chavo Guerrero

Daniels immediately ducks out of the ring. He comes back in and they finally lock-up. Chavo hits strikes in the corner and sends Daniels to the opposite turnbuckle. Chavo knocks Daniels down and applies a side headlock. Daniels sends him in but Chavo counters and hits a backbreaker for 1. Chavo goes back to the headlock. Chavo hits a summersault off the apron. Daniels gets the upper-hand and gets 1 in the ring. Chavo works his way up from a reverse bearhug and hits a backbreaker across his knee. Chavo hits back-to-back shoulderblocks and a head-scissor takedown followed by a dropkick for 2. Chavo hip-tosses Daniels out of the ring. Daniels brings his title in the ring and swings for Chavo’s head but he ducks and gives Daniels the 3 Amigos. Chavo goes up top and connects with the Frogsplash for the win.

Winner by pin: Chavo Guerrero

- We go to a Gut Check vignette featuring Evan Markopoulos.

- Tara is on her way out.

Storm is in the back and says he is going to make Roode’s life a living hell. He says next week is Open Fight Night and that it bad for Roode.

- Gail Kim vignette of her winning the first TNA Knockouts Title at Bound for Glory in 2005.

Tara comes to the ring and congratulates her best friend and Knockouts Champion: Miss Tessmacher; she comes to the ring. Tara says Tessmacher beat the teacher and Tara was upset but also proud and happy. Tara says she loves her and wants to properly present her with the title. Tara gets the belt and puts it around Tessmacher’s waist and raises her arm. She tells Tessmacher to go on the turnbuckles and play to the crowd as Tara applauds at ringside. Tara comes out of nowhere with a clothesline and a Widow’s Peak to Tessmacher and stands over her prey.

- We go to an Aces & 8′s and Jeff Hardy video from Sunday.

- Hardy and Bully make their respective ways, in a split screen, to the Impact Zone.

Dixie Carter is having a meeting with the executive staff. She wants to know what the plan is because things are really out of control. Hogan says this thing is beyond the business and is personal. D-Lo Brown says they should open the doors and let them in. Hogan says that is a good idea because they have already proven they can get in. Al Snow wonders if anyone in the room could be involved. Dixie says that is exactly what the masked men want them to think. Bruce Prichard asks Hogan if it could be him (Hogan). Brooke is there also.

TNA World Title #1 Contenders Match: Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray

Bully attacks Hardy from behind before the bell rings and here we go. Hardy fights back and lands some clotheslines and punches up top in the corner. Hardy hits a couple of takedowns and gets 2. Hardy flies with a crossbody to the outside.

Bully is in control as we return. He hits a back bodydrop and a big splash for 2. Bully hits a clothesline and spits in the air and catches it in his mouth. Bully sends Hardy into the pole in the corner and Hardy falls to the outside. Hardy just barely makes it back in before the count of 10. Bully keeps the pressure on. Hardy gets an opening and hits Whisper in the Wind as both men struggle to get up. They trade blows from their knees. They get to their feet and Hardy hits an inverted atomic drop and a basement dropkick for 2. Bully counters the Twist and hits a Bubba Bomb and gets 2. Hardy counters a Full Nelson and hits a DDT for 2.

Hardy goes up top and Bully makes him lose his balance. Bully brings Hardy down in a superplex but only gets 2. Hardy is favoring his left shoulder. Bully misses with a corner splash but Hardy also misses with the Swanton. Bully hits a Bubba Bomb but Hardy kicks out again. Bully gets up first but misses with a boot. Hardy hits the Twist of Fate and goes up and connects with the Swanton to retain his #1 contendership.
