Lucknow, Sep 6 (IANS) Wrestler Narsingh Yadav met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday after which the latter said that he would write to the Union government to order a CBI probe into the alleged conspiracy behind the doping ban faced by the grappler.
Akhilesh also asked the 33-year-old to move on in life and put behind him the incident of Rio Olympics, after the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) banned the wrestler for four years on the appeal of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Expressing sympathies with the wrestler, he said he should work even harder and set for himself even tougher targets, so that he is able to win gold medals in forthcoming international games.
The CBI probe would not only bring the guilty to book but would also act as a deterrent for anyone trying to do similar things in future, the chief minister pointed out.
Both Narsingh and his family have alleged that his sons food was laced with banned drugs during a training camp.
