The first Friday Night Smackdown post Wrestlemania 28 marked the beginning of the John Laurinaitis era in Smackdown history. Courtesy of his team’s victory over Team Teddy at Wrestlemania 28, John Laurinaitis had earned the right to be the General Manager of both Raw and Smackdown. He was in-charge of WWE Smackdown 6/4/2012.
The show featured the following matches:
- R-Truth vs. Mark Henry and David Otunga in a handicap match
- Randy Orton vs. Kane in a No Disqualification match
- Ryback vs. Barry Stevens
- Big Show vs. Heath Slater
- Beth Phoenix vs. Nikki Bella in a non-title match
- Sheamus vs. Alberto Del Rio in a non-title match. If Del Rio wins, he earns a future World Heavyweight title shot against Sheamus
