The Miz and Cody Rhodes are two wrestlers who seem to be the future of the WWE. Many predicted Cody to defend his title successfully in Wrestlemania 28 but to the disappointment of fans that didn’t happen. A lengthy run with the title was what all expected and despite the unexpected loss there were rumors that Cody would go on to the main event after winning the Money in the Bank. But things didn’t turn out that way either.
It is a letdown to all of Cody’s fans as the WWE hasn’t given him the push that he deserves. Then again, there isn’t anything for the fans to fret about as the future holds a lot of excitement for Rhodes and not to mention his fans.
There is only one reason that can justify this prediction and that is his age. At the age of 27 Rhodes still has achieved a lot that many WWE greats didn’t get to see at the same age. This shows how important he is in the roster today.
In the wrestling world, everyone can’t be on top and this is the fact that is keeping Cody Rhodes in the position that he is today. Ziggler and Miz who too weren’t given the right push in the beginning have now started enjoying the spotlight.
Even Daniel Bryan can be a considered a great example here. He lost most of his matches despite holding the Money in the Bank briefcase and only later did he cash it in successfully.
It is therefore pertinent for Cody Rhodes and his fans to be patient as he will get the necessary pop if not now at least in the next 6 months or a year. Till then it would be wise to look at what Rhodes has achieved since he joined the organization in the year 2007 and the memorable feuds he had with DX, Randy Orton along with Ted Dibiase and also his most memorable feud with Rey Mysterio.
Barring all unprecedented happenings in the next one year we will see Rhodes climb up the ladder and just because we don’t see him where Ziggler and Bryan are today, coming up with conclusions isn’t the right thing.
Looking at Rhodes as a performer, it has to be said that he has shown a lot of improvement over the years. He has become quite fluent with the mic and also his in-ring skills have changed for the better. As Rhodes learns to deal with the minor imperfections and fixes them, it is assured that we will see him as a World Champion sooner or later.
