Being a champion is a huge honor in the world of WWE. It means that management is impressed enough with your skills to trust you with continuing the legacy of one of it’s many historic championships. Although some of the current champions are not really deserving of their title (*cough* Santino *cough*), guys like CM Punk and Sheamus have been carrying their titles for a very long time, and building memorable reigns. But, these guys won’t have their championships for ever, and it’s now time to look forward on who will take the titles away from them.
WWE Championship, CM Punk –> The Rock
As much as it pains to me say it, the Rock is probably going to win the title off of Punk at the Royal Rumble. But, that also means that I think Punk is going to hold the belt until the Royal Rumble. CM Punk (if you didn’t see Raw 1000 for some reason) looks like he has turned heel, which opens up the doors to many more challengers that he didn’t have before. I feel like he will mow through them up until Royal Rumble, where Rock will win the belt off of him, setting up for an unfortunate Rock vs. Cena II match at WrestleMania. “Once In A Lifetime” should really mean “Once In A Lifetime”.
World Heavyweight Championship, Sheamus –> Wade Barrett
I know most people are expecting Dolph Ziggler to cash in on Sheamus to win the title, but I think that Dolph is going to hold on to the briefcase for a while, and since Wade Barrett was originally supposed to win Money In The Bank at WrestleMania 28, and he’s cleared to return, I think the Bare-Knuckle Brawler is going to be the one to take the title off of Sheamus.
Intercontinental Championship, The Miz –> Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho looks like he’s a face now, as he’s currently feuding with Dolph Ziggler. The Miz is the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion. Jericho, who’s probably leaving for a few months after SummerSlam, could easily return and capture his 400th IC title off of the awesome one.
United States Championship, Santino Marella –> Antonio Cesaro
WWE needs to get the belt off of Santino immediately. Seeing that Antonio Cesaro beat Santino on Smackdown, he’s probably going to be made #1 Contender. Therefore, it would be the smartest thing to make him champion. Hell, Hornswoggle would be a smarter option for US Champion than Santino.
Tag Team Championships, Kofi Kingston & R-Truth –> The Primetime Players
This one is sort of a no-brainer. The Primetime Players are basically confirmed to be the champions, and even though they lost their title match, they are no doubt going to get another opportunity at the giant penny belts.
Divas Championship, Layla –> Who Cares?
Does anyone really give to shits about the Divas anymore? Kharma’s been released from her contract, and people like Natalya and Beth are treated like jobbers.
