- Tensai Update: After Tensai attacked Sakamoto on RAW a few weeks back, it was believed that the two were going to split as part of Tensai being repackaged. Sakamoto was back with Tensai on Friday’s SmackDown as he qualified for Money in the Bank.
- WrestleMania 29 News: WWE officials continue to toss around ideas for CM Punk‘s opponent at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. While Punk still wants the match against WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin, it may not happen. With WrestleMania 29 several months away, plans can and will change between now and then but WWE wants to have the top matches already in place.
Regarding a Punk vs. Austin match happening at WrestleMania 29, The Wrestling Observer reports that the latest word is that it’s “more likely a no than a yes.”
- Raw Preview: Tonight’s WWE RAW Supershow (02 July 2012) takes place from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas. Confirmed for tonight’s show is Teddy Long as General Manager and Brock Lesnar’s official response to Triple H’s SummerSlam challenge. Neither Triple H or Lesnar are advertised to appear live so Lesnar’s response may come via satellite.
John Laurinaitis is being advertised for tonight’s show, in the dark main event teaming with Big Show against John Cena. WWE is also advertising Sin Cara and Alberto Del Rio for tonight to help boost ticket sales with the local Spanish population.
- Jericho News: Chris Jericho was back working WWE live events this weekend, losing to Kane in “RAW Challenge” matches.
- Vickie Guerrero as GM?: WWE is running an angle on their website where Vickie Guerrero campaigns to be the permanent General Manager of RAW and SmackDown.
- Eve back on Raw!: Eve Torres wrote on Twitter that she was back on the road this week so she will likely be returning to RAW tonight.
- Kurt Angle to Retire from TNA: Kurt Angle always says that he will retire from TNA but he wrote on Twitter this weekend that he may just retire with WWE. Angle wrote:
“Kurt Angle via Twitter: I Know Everyone Wants Me to Go Back to Wwe. Not Yet. My Job Is to Build Tna. Once they Are Built, I May Retire In Wwe. Maybe. Tna is 1st tho”.
- Top 50 of John Cena: WWE.com has posted an article featuring the Top 50 matches in the career of John Cena. Cena debuted ten years ago with the company’s main roster, competing against Kurt Angle on Smackdown. I thought this would be higher, but this year’s match against The Rock at Wrestlemania 28 was ranked #23
