The era of people power has come to an end with John Laurinaitis getting fired at the end of No Way Out, after John Cena beat Big Show in a steel cage match. As a result of this, the general manager position in Raw and Smackdown is currently vacant. Tonight’s Monday Night Raw Supershow might give us some pointers on who will become the new General Manager of Raw.
The Long Island Connection
WWE Monday Night Raw Supershow on 18/6/2012 takes place at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York. This is expected to be an action packed two hour show with plenty of fallout from the No Way Out event. Since the show is in Long Island, ‘Long Island Iced Z’ Zack Ryder will be a crowd favorite and might find himself in a match on the show. However, his Wrestlemania 29 Internet Championship rival Dolph Ziggler, who is coming off a defeat at the hands of Sheamus at No Way Out, has some unfinished business. His relationship with his former tag team partner Jack Swagger has gone sour after Ziggler pinned Swagger to win the fatal 4 way match to become the no.1 contender for the World Championship. Ziggler has to deal with Swagger before moving on to steal the show on his own.
The crazy trio
The weird conclusion to the WWE Championship match has left many questions about AJ’s relationship with CM Punk and Kane. It is chaotic and CM Punk likes it. But is AJ with Punk or with Kane? What does this defeat mean to Daniel Bryan’s rivalry with Punk? This is an interesting feud indeed and it is bound to continue.
What next for John Cena?
John Cena defeated the Big Show at No Way Out and saved his job. He has been involved in new rivalries in every PPV this year and it will be interesting to see if this trend continues. As far as the Big Show is concerned, he has the Iron Clad contract and his show goes on.
Brock Lesnar’s response
There is a possibility that Brock Lesnar might be on Raw to respond to Triple H’s challenge to a match at Summerslam to settle their disputes. If it doesn’t happen, Paul Heyman may be on the show to confront Triple H on this regard.
The Legends
WWE had announced last week that we will have a legend performing each week on Raw in the lead up to the 1000th episode on July 23rd. Last week it was Vader time, who is it gonna be this week?
All World for Prime Time Players
The Prime Time Players are the no.1 contenders for the tag-team championships. They are backed by AW who back-stabbed Primo and Epico at No Way Out, helping Titus and Young to win the fatal 4 way match. It will be interesting to see whether the All World faction comes to the fore this time around.
Next General Manager?
With John Laurinaitis gone, the question is who will be the next Raw GM? Eve and Otunga might be the favorites to take over the job. Vince may himself stick around for a while and decide on the next GM. Tonight’s Raw holds the key in this regard.
