WWE Raw 16/7/2012 Preview: Money in the Bank Aftermath

Shantha

This week’s Monday Night Raw Supershow takes place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas,Nevada. It is Raw #999 and is likely to be the final 2-hour Raw (atleast for the time being). A lot of focus will be given to next week’s 1000th episode. Also, the after effects of last weekend’s Money in the Bank event will be seen on Raw.

John Cena or Dolph Ziggler: Who will cash in first?

John Cena back in the title picture

Courtesy of his Money in the Bank ladder match victory, John Cena is in the title mix yet again. Though he might not actually cash it in on Raw, he will be involved in segments with the current WWE champion CM Punk in the coming weeks, teasing to cash it in.

Dolph Ziggler in a hurry

Dolph Ziggler tried to do a Kane at Money in the Bank – cashing in the contract at the same event. Unfortunately, Ziggler’s attempt was thwarted by Del Rio. But, Ziggler will have many more opportunities to do so. With the World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus currently in a weakened state with an injured arm, Ziggler might cash in his contract on Raw or Smackdown.

CM Punk going strong

Against all odds, CM Punk defeated Daniel Bryan in a No DQ match at Money in the Bank to extend his record-breaking WWE Championship reign. But it seems like all is not over between him, Bryan and AJ. There has to be a conclusion to this angle and it might indeed happen on Raw.

The Awesome one is back!

The Miz returns to Raw

After a month of absence due to the filming of his upcoming movie ‘The Marine: Homefront’, The Miz made a surprise appearance at Money in the Bank and even tried his luck by taking part in the WWE Championship contract Money in the Bank ladder much. That didn’t work out well but all is not lost. The Miz is expected to be on Raw and it will be interesting to see if he gets pushed from now on.

What next for Chris Jericho, Big Show and Kane?

The trio are likely to be inducted in fresh feuds in the lead up to Summerslam 2012. Chris Jericho was expected to be involved in a feud with John Cena but that seems like a distant possibility right now with Cena becoming ‘Mr. Money in the Bank’. Big Show and Kane’s careers have taken a big leap in the last six months and it will be interesting to see if that trend continues in the coming weeks. Raw will certainly give us some pointers in this regard.

Who’s in charge?

As it has been the tradition for the last few weeks, Raw has been run by a former General Manger every week. The details of this week’s Raw GM hasn’t been revealed yet. We may get to know about it once the show starts.

And finally, don’t be surprised if you see Stephanie & Triple H on Raw (Oops!)
