The twenty-fifth Royal Rumble event will take place on January 29, 2012 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. This landmark event has 4 matches scheduled to take place, so far. The highlight of the night would be the Royal Rumble match. The number of participants in the Royal Rumble match has been reduced from 40 in 2011 to 30 this year. Besides, WWE has announced that all superstars on the roster are eligible to take part in the Royal Rumble match which meant that no qualification matches were to be held to decide the participants of the Royal Rumble match.

Though just three matches have been announced for the second biggest WWE event of the year, one or more matches may be added depending on plans prior to the start of the event. Here is a list of the matches confirmed to take place at Royal Rumble 2012:

1. CM Punk(c) Vs Dolph Ziggler

Singles match for the WWE Championship with John Laurinaitis as the special guest referee.

Jack Swagger and Vickie Guerrero have been banned from ringside.

The remaining 20 slots will be filled by the other wrestlers on the roster.
