WWE to get new talents soon?

2012 has been an exciting year for WWE thus far, and part of that excitement is thanks to a lot of new and returning faces appearing on both RAW and Smackdown! in recent months. We’ve seen stars such as Damien Sandow, Ryback, current WWE US Champion Antonio Cesaro, Brodus Clay and several others all make their debuts or returns and have, for the most part, really made an impact in the landscape of the company. Well, we still have a few months left in the year, and it looks like several more faces may be popping up sooner than later. In addition to several stars I have mentioned currently in FCW/NXT looking to debut at any moment, the following talents may be appearing soon:

Diana Lopez

Lopez was a member of the United States Olympic Team this year in London, competing in Tae Kwan Do at 125 pounds. Although she did not place, she was on the team during the 2008 games as well, and took home the bronze medal. A formal offer has not yet been made by WWE, but Lopez has expressed interest in joining the company. WWE is always interested in current/former Olympians, so there’s still a very strong possibility here.

Alex Shelley

I have reported before that the former TNA World X-Division and Tag Team Champion has been rumored to be signing with the company. Although nothing is official yet, and Shelley is currently on tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling (set for September), reports are stating that the signing is imminent, and it’s only a matter of time before the former independent darling (and one of the ten best current active talents in the world, according to many journalists) finally makes his way to WWE.

Ashley Fleihr

The daughter of 2-time WWE Hall of Famer “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair is already signed to a WWE developmental deal as “Charlotte”, but her debut with the main roster may be coming soon. Currently, there are talks of bringing her to the main roster as a manager/valet for Cody Rhodes, playing off the legendary Rhodes/Flair feud of the 1980s. Fleihr is also said to be a quick learner in the ring, and her background in both volleyball and gymnastics has some saying she can do things in the ring no other woman currently in WWE or developmental can do.

Mercedes KV

A brand-new divas signee (I mentioned her in a previous article) who is currently in developmental. Despite her youth and inexperience, she has been said to be quite impressive. KV also happens to be the cousin of rapper Snoop Lion (formerly Snoop Dogg), who himself happened to be the employer of current WWE star Brodus Clay at one point.

Big E. Langston

This very large man has been in developmental for quite some time, and has begun working dark matches for WWE. Recently, he faced Tensai at a house show after Tensai made an open challenge, defeating the former Albert/A-Train in the process. He also defeated Jack Swagger over the weekend.

Wade Barrett

Speaking of this weekend, Barrett made his long-awaited return to the ring after suffering an injury back in February. There have been videos on both RAW and Smackdown! hyping his return, and he looks to come back to TV any day now. Barrett has had some work done to his gimmick, really emphasizing his past as a bare-knuckle fighter, giving him the feel of someone with a little bit of Fight Club mixed with 30s/40s bare-knuckle prize fighting thrown in for good measure
