#1 High - "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt's perfect debut at SummerSlam 2019
Contrary to Hell in a Cell, SummerSlam ended up being one of the best WWE shows of 2019. One of the highlights of the show was the in-ring debut of Bray Wyatt's alter-ego, The Fiend.
As mentioned earlier, 2018 was a tumultuous year for Bray Wyatt. While he did win the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships alongside Matt Hardy, the duo's title reign wasn't as noteworthy as one would've expected it to be.
Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.
Hardy and Wyatt would drop the titles to The B Team, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, at Extreme Rules. After failing to regain the titles on the July 23th, 2019 episode of RAW, the duo went their separate ways. With Hardy taking time off to heal his injuries, Bray Wyatt was sidelined and kept off TV for the rest of 2019.
While Bray Wyatt made a couple of house show appearances during this period, it wasn't until after WrestleMania 36 when he officially returned to WWE TV.
On the July 15th, 2019 episode of RAW, Bray Wyatt would attack Finn Balor and establish himself as a heel. He would then challenge Balor to a match at SummerSlam, which was accepted.
Bray Wyatt would defeat Balor in quick fashion at SummerSlam, to a raucous reception from the crowd. While the match itself wasn't anything special, it was the presentation of Wyatt's new persona that left fans in awe.
Everything from Bray Wyatt's newly remixed theme song to his mask, and even the severed head lantern that he bought to the ring, became a hit with the WWE Universe. It was as perfect of a re-debut as one could've hoped for.
