Angelo Dawkins and Sami Zayn were both recruits at WWE's Performance Center back in 2012.
Dawkins and Zayn were put together by WWE and later became roommates and travel buddies. At the time, Dawkins had no experience in the wrestling business, whilst Zayn had come over to WWE following a successful stint on the Indy circuit as El Generico.

Dawkins recently appeared on WWE's The Bump where he revealed his friendship with Sami Zayn.
“So I met Sami when we tried out in the week and they said ‘hey, you guys are gonna be together,’ so we ended up getting a rental car together. So the first time I met Sami I’m walking and I don’t even know what he looks like at this time so I’m trying to find out how I can get in contact with him and I’m one of the only dudes who is pretty big walking through the airport at that point in time.”
The two stars currently work alongside each other on SmackDown and whilst it's commonly known that Dawkins and Montez Ford are best friends, Dawkins and Zayn have also remained close friends.
