Once known as The Doctor of Thugonomics, Cena has run some of the best gimmicks of the 2000s for the WWE. Introduced into the company as The Prototype in 2000, Cena made his SmackDown debut against Kurt Angle in an impressive fashion under his real name.

Seeing immense passion and potential in the young Cena, Paul Heyman pushed the superstar in 2002 while he was the head writer of SmackDown. Soon after in 2005, Cena won his first of sixteen world championship and went on to become a fan favorite.
