We're around twenty-four hours away from WWE Greatest Royal Rumble taking place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and the excitement amongst the WWE Universe is at an all-time high. While the controversy surrounding the lack of female superstars on the card is still present, many are choosing to focus on just how tremendous the card appears to be from a quality standpoint.
There's a fantastic mixture of legends and upcoming stars who will feature on the card, either in the 50-man Rumble match or in another match, but we want to focus on the former as opposed to the latter. With so many superstars being showcased the winner is likely going to receive a huge boost as a result of winning the trophy, and according to Sky Bet, the following ten entries are the bookies' favorites to reign supreme.
So with that being said, here are the ten favorites to win the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble match.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#10 Rusev - 20/1
There's just no denying it anymore: Rusev is one of the most over guys in all of professional wrestling. The Bulgarian brute has managed to win over the crowd in more ways than one, and now, he's been awarded a casket match against The Undertaker at one of the company's biggest shows of the year. Sure, it doesn't make much sense, but that doesn't mean it won't be a tonne of fun.
The former US champion may never reach the lofty heights of being a world champion, but when it comes to this match, it could be the perfect opportunity for WWE to make him happy with a big-time win on a huge stage. You could argue it wouldn't mean all too much in the grand scheme of his career trajectory, but you just never know where this could take him.
#9 John Cena - 20/1
To be honest, we're a little bit surprised that John Cena isn't higher up here. After all, the 16-time world champion has been used as a method for sending the fans home happy for well over a decade now, and that could be exactly what WWE needs when it comes to this show. He'll be facing Triple H in a grudge match earlier in the night, but what if that's just a way of throwing us off the scent?
Cena has been on a pretty poor losing streak as of late, and unfortunately, things haven't been going all that great in his personal life either following the public break-up of his relationship with Nikki Bella. In many ways, it'd be heartwarming to see him get his first real big win in quite some time, especially if it comes at the end of an enjoyable Rumble match.
#8 Finn Balor - 18/1
Despite what many pundits would lead you to believe, Finn Balor is over - and his star is rising with each and every show. Right now he isn't quite at the same level as he was during his time in developmental, but with The Demon in WWE's back pocket, they know that they've always got a guaranteed crowd-popper on their hands in addition to a whole new story arch for Finn if they ever feel like he's turning stale.
While we don't exactly believe they'll choose the Rumble match to bring out the iconic facepaint, we do think that there's a chance Finn walks away with the win here. He proved back in January that he can thrive in this kind of match stipulation, and as we look ahead to a WWE world without Brock Lesnar, Balor could be used as a Universal title challenger in the not so distant future.
#7 Sami Zayn - 16/1
It was hard not to love Sami Zayn during his run as a babyface, and now, as an over the top heel, it's hard not to find him incredibly annoying - but in the best way possible. The Underdog from the Underground has forged a dastardly partnership with Kevin Owens, and together, they've transformed into two of the top heels on the entire roster.
In fact, you could even argue that Sami has surpassed Kevin, which could've been his intention all along. With the Rumble usually being a great opportunity for babyfaces to shine through, perhaps Zayn could be utilized as the underhanded heel who hides throughout the majority of the match before stealing a victory late in the day. It'd fit his character brilliantly, and you could probably use it as fuel for the eventual break-up between him and Owens.
#6 Big Cass - 16/1
Does anyone remember the summer of 2016 when Cass was challenging for the Universal Championship and getting some of the best reactions on Raw alongside Enzo Amore? We do. As a babyface, he seemed destined for an eventual run at the top of the card, but for whatever reason WWE decided it would be best for him to turn heel on his former best friend.
His initial run didn't work out that well and he was eventually sidelined with an injury, but now, he seems to have a renewed sense of focus. His promo on SmackDown Live this week showed progress and heading into Greatest Royal Rumble, he's got a tonne of momentum that was previously non-existent. Perhaps this is the start of something new for the seven-footer.
#5 Chris Jericho - 11/1
Following his brief stint with New Japan Pro Wrestling, WWE legend and multi-time world champion Chris Jericho will return to a WWE ring tomorrow night as a participant in the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble match. Initially it seemed as if he'd be competing against The Undertaker in a casket match, but in all honesty, the fact we get to see him at all is a privilege in itself.
Despite proving himself to be Mr Royal Rumble on many different occasions throughout his career, Y2J has never actually won the match. Perhaps given that no official reward aside from the trophy has been announced, Jericho could be handed the honor of winning this one in front of a crowd that will likely be heavily behind him courtesy of his overwhelming popularity worldwide.
#4 Bobby Lashley - 9/1
Since returning to the Raw after WrestleMania, Bobby Lashley has done pretty well with getting himself over as the company's latest unstoppable force. His blossoming partnership with Braun Strowman has potential, he could face off against Brock Lesnar in a giant vs giant showdown, and it just feels like he's much more well-rounded than he was when he left many years ago.
His run with Impact Wrestling played a big role in that, and now, he could really elevate himself to the next level with a win in the Greatest Royal Rumble tomorrow. He's considered to be one of the favorites to win the match, and his victory would make all the sense in the world given just how much of a genetic freak he is.
If he doesn't win it, he almost certainly needs to make it to the final four.
#3 Baron Corbin - 11/2
In a somewhat strange turn of events, Baron Corbin is one of the favorites to win the Greatest Royal Rumble. He certainly has a pedigree with winning these kinds of battle royal matches dating back to his win at WrestleMania 32, but he doesn't really have all too much momentum even after being moved over to Monday Night Raw in the Superstar Shake-Up.
There's still a great deal of potential in this guy even if some fans don't want to admit it, so maybe, just maybe, this could work out for the best for Corbin. His imposing style allows for him to make a notable impact in Rumble matches, in a similar manner to Kane. If he can tally up a good amount of eliminations, people may start to view him a little bit differently.
#2 Daniel Bryan - 13/8
The return of Daniel Bryan to active in-ring competition is a wonderful thing no matter how many different ways you try and analyze it. The leader of the Yes Movement has been instrumental in creating a whole new era of top-level WWE superstars, and now, he's getting the chance to mix it up with every major superstar on the main roster.
It's something that'll put a smile on the face of most fans, and unsurprisingly, he's considered to be one of the favorites heading into the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble. His underdog persona will allow him to go far in the Rumble, and it's not hard to imagine the fans getting behind him. His popularity continues to grow and he's one of the best wrestlers in the world: it's a no-brainer.
#1 Braun Strowman - 5/4
Of course, Braun Strowman would have something to say about that.
The Monster Among Men has become arguably the most over guy in the company in the absence of Daniel Bryan, and as a result, he's considered to be one of the clear favorites to take home the trophy tomorrow night in Jeddah.
His phenomenal rise to the top of the card is still ongoing, and a win like this would do wonders for him in more ways than one. He doesn't necessarily need to capture the Universal Championship just yet, but moving forward, winning a 50-man Rumble match would do wonders for his legitimacy.
They could have him eliminate at least half a dozen people before finally seeing off the challenge of someone like Lashley or Bryan in the final two, confirming his position as a mega-star.
