Since April 25th, 1963 the WWE Championship has been the cornerstone of World Wrestling Entertainment. It’s a belt that has been reserved for the best of the best, and while we considered putting other titles at the top of the pile, there was always only ever going to be one winner.
In any sport, there’s often one accolade you want to claim more so than any other, and in pro wrestling, this is it. Since its inception, only 50 men have been able to claim that they were the WWE Champion, and all 50 will likely tell you it was the highest honour of their entire wrestling career.
This industry could continue to change to the point where it’s barely even recognizable anymore, but one thing will always remain the same – the WWE Championship is the biggest belt in town.
