The Intercontinental Championship has always been seen as a stepping stone towards reaching bigger and better things, and yet in the present day, you could argue it’s even more interesting than either WWE world title currently in existence. It’s known for being the belt that showcases some of the best performers in the business, and over the years, we’ve certainly seen some classic matches because of it.
You can’t have a discussion about great championships without including the IC title because funnily enough, some of the greatest moments in WWE history have come because of this title. Sure, you don’t often see it closing out any pay per views, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see that change in the next few years.
