Alex Shelly and Chris Sabin were the other pair that was thrown together and became something very special Alex and Chris had been X Division stars for years before teaming together.

After briefly working together while wrestling as opponents in an Xscape match at the annual Lockdown pay-per-view they became regulars in the tag team division. The duo formed the Motor City Machine Guns, and quickly became one of TNA's most popular and promising acts.

Despite being TNA's best tag team, they would only ever hold the TNA Tag Team Championship once during their four years in teaming together on Impact. The MCMG regularly wrestled the best matches of the night and had memorable matches and feuds with Team 3D, Beer Money and The Young Bucks.
Chris Sabin missed almost a year of action from 2011 - 2012, and when they reunited in 2012 after his return, they only wrestled a few matches together before Alex was granted his requested contract release, thus ending the team. They would, however, reunite on the independent scene in 2016 and have been teaming together ever since on the Indies, and in Ring of Honor.
