Intense WWE matches that surprised fans

#8 Randy Orton vs. Brock Lesnar – SummerSlam 2016

Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2016 was a match that was 15 years in the making. They had wrestled before, but since their last bout, both men had gone on to become global Superstars both in and outside of the squared circle.

A majority of the WWE Universe knew Brock would come out on top, but we were at least hoping for a competitive match at the biggest event of the summer. Instead, what we got was a relatively one-sided affair which concluded with Lesnar elbowing Randy in the skull until his head was pouring with blood.

#9 Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon – King of the Ring 2001

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

Anyone who says Shane McMahon isn’t a great wrestler is wrong. Period. The boss’ son never had to even entertain the idea of getting physical in the ring if he didn’t want to, and yet the adrenaline junkie that is Shane-o-Mac was so focused on proving himself to the world that he was willing to put his body on the line in order to achieve that goal.

One such example was back at KOTR 2001, when a planned spot involving Kurt suplexing Shane through some sugar glass went very wrong indeed. It turns out that the wrong glass had been installed, resulting in McMahon landing head and neck first onto the concrete.

Obviously, he proceeded to do it again.
