#1 SmackDown after 9/11
On September 11, 2001, the world was shaken by the Twin Towers attack on New York City. The United States was still in chaos but the WWE decided to hold their show two days after the attack. There was fear that the SmackDown event would be an easy target for terrorists but the show went on in Houston, Texas.
Lillian Garcia sang the Star Spangled Banner to an amazing and emotional reaction from every one. Several WWE Superstars were holding the American flag while some were weeping. The WWE holding the event showed that the United States, and the rest of the world, have nothing to fear and terror will never win.
The SmackDown after 9/11 event also helped a lot of people by getting their minds off the tragedy that happened and knowing that there is hope despite of it. The show also inspired others to continue with their lives and start the healing process.
