The WWE creative gives each and every Superstar their own unique identity by allotting them a finishing move, which they use to win matches. Roman Reigns' Spear, Goldberg's JackHammer, Triple H's Pedigree, Drew McIntyre's Claymore Kick, Finn Balor's Coup de Grace, AJ Styles' Styles Clash are just a treat to watch and are believable finishers.
A plethora of Superstars have earned the fans' respect due to their finishing moves. Randy Orton (RKO), Shane McMahon (Coast to Coast), Rey Mysterio (619) and Jeff Hardy (Swanton Bomb) are its best examples.
However, nothing is perfect in this world and the same goes for the finishing moves in WWE since a lot of Superstars use finishing moves which are not that fancy and remind the audience that WWE is scripted. Here is a list of the top 10 most underwhelming finishers in the WWE currently -
#10 Dolph Ziggler - Superkick
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
The Superkick which was once made famous by the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels as Sweet Chin Music is no longer a rare commodity in the WWE. We see almost all the superstars using this move in every second match which depreciates its value.
However, the WWE creative have continued to use it as Dolph Ziggler's main finishing move. Though the ShowOff has the Zigzag and the Famouser in his arsenal, we have seen him win a lot of matches using the Superkick. I think its high time that the WWE creative modifies Ziggler's wrestling moves and gives them an upgrade.
Perhaps, a new submission move or something like his partner Drew McIntyre's Claymore could help Ziggler's finishing move stronger but the WWE should do away with the Superkick as his finisher as soon as possible.
#9 Bayley - Belly to Bayley Suplex
Bayley's finishing move has been widely criticized because it is not a believable finisher. To have someone like Nia Jax lose a match after being hit with one Belly to Bayley move is one thing which makes WWE look more scripted.
Also, the move has been kept quite protected as very few female superstars have kicked out after taking the Belly to Bayley suplex. This has led to many viewers knowing that once Bayley gets hold of the abdomen of her opponent then it will be Bayley whose hand would be raised by the referee.
This has literally bored the WWE Universe and the WWE creative does not seem in a mood to push Bayley so I don't see her getting a new finishing move until she receives a giant push or she turns heel.
#8 Brock Lesnar - F5
This move helped Brock Lesnar end The Undertaker's undefeated streak and is still one of the most protected moves in the WWE. However, The Beast's matches have had more F5s than ever and which certainly tests the patience of the audience. At Crown Jewel earlier this month, the Universal Championship match between Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman had nothing but 5 F5s.
Even in his matches against Roman Reigns, he used this move more than once which does nothing but makes the finisher more monotonous and tedious to watch. There's no need to change this finisher but all the WWE Creative needs to do is to limit Brock Lesnar from using it.
#7 Dean Ambrose - Dirty Deeds
Dean Ambrose made his much-awaited return ahead of Summerslam 2018 and changed his look altogether. From the long curly haired Lunatic Fringe to the macho heel look that he sports now, Ambrose has changed his wrestling arsenal a lot. He has started using more heelish tactics in his wrestling. The Grand Slam Champion has done away with moves like the Lunatic lariat, the Running Bulldog but has continued using the same old finisher Dirty Deeds.
The execution of this move matters a lot but Dean seemed to have mastered its execution during his face run. However, the same mastery is not visible currently as it looks more monotonous now. The WWE creative team need to think about giving Dean a new finisher since the Dirty Deeds is losing its charm now.
#6 Elias - Drift Away
During his run in the WWE developmental territory, nobody would have predicted Elias Samson to be as popular as he is now. The Drifter is one of the top superstars of Monday Night RAW and is one of the darlings of the WWE Universe. His mic skills, his in-ring performances and his humor are a treat to watch but the same cannot be said about his finisher.
The Guitarist's finishing maneuver Drift Away is not a move which can keep the likes of Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins or any other superstar down. Though he has been able to win matches in kayfabe using that move, the WWE Universe is not excited when Elias performs it. Given that the WWE Creative have invested so much time and effort in building Elias, they would surely come up with a better finisher for him.
#5 Jinder Mahal - The Khallas
Jinder Mahal's WWE Champion experiment was one of the biggest failures of Vince McMahon and Co. as not only were they unsuccessful in breaking into the Indian market, this storyline led to a number of fans tuning out of the product. The key reason behind that failure was the lack of build that Jinder received ahead of his monstrous push.
He captured the United States Championship as well as the WWE Championship with this move which is nothing but a Cobra Clutch slam. Jinder Mahal has shockingly even botched this move many times which has just made him unwatchable in the ring.
He has been demoted to the jobber's role once again but he performs regularly at the WWE Mixed Match Challenge. In this case, I think neither the WWE Creative nor the WWE Universe would think much since the Khallas is rarely performed now on WWE TV.
#4 Nia Jax - The Samoan Drop
Nia Jax certainly looked like the next big thing in the WWE when she squashed multiple superstars during her initial weeks on RAW. However, her finishing move is the only thing which goes against the Facebreaker.
Jax has some good moves wrestling arsenal like the leg drop, the running senton, the running somersault senton but using the Samoan Drop as her finishing move make her matches less interesting.
She has drawn nuclear heat towards her after injuring Becky Lynch and perhaps changing her finishing move to a submission one will freshen things up and also add a new dynamic to her matches than the monotonous and lackluster Samoan Drop.
Jax had used an arm-bar on an enhancement talent during her feud with Ronda Rousey earlier this year and can use it as her new finisher.
#3 Tamina - Superfly Splash
The Superfly Splash was made famous by Tamina's father Jimmy Snuka and his daughter has continued his legacy by using the same finisher to win matches. However, the chief reason why she has been unable to repeat her father's magic is that she has found it difficult to perform the move quickly. For a casual fan, it may not make sense that Tamina's opponent lies at just one place for about 10-15 seconds until she hits her with a Superfly Splash.
Also, the second generation superstar has botched this move several times leading to painful or comic scenes on WWE TV. She has sometimes landed wrongly and diminished the credibility of that move.
It seems like the Samoan is likely to be active on WWE TV now that she has formed a team with Nia Jax and so, the WWE Creative could give her a simpler finisher than the one she uses now.
#2 Braun Strowman - Running Powerslam
Braun Strowman earlier portrayed a heel character when he was a part of the Wyatt Family and used the Bear Hug as his finisher which used to pass out superstars like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and other top stars. However, ever since the brand split the Monster amongst Men has changed his finisher and uses a Running Powerslam now instead of the Bear Hug.
He has eliminated a lot of superstars using that move but it does not look so harmful as it should leading to the boredom of the WWE Universe. The fact that superstars like Samoa Joe, John Cena, Rey Mysterio are losing matches after being just hit with one Powerslam does not make any sense. Probably, the Running Powerslam is the only reason why WWE is not letting him win the Universal championship.
#1 John Cena - Sixth Move of Doom
John Cena used a new finishing move at WWE Super Show-Down during his two-minute in-ring appearance in the tag team match against Kevin Owens and Elias. It was revealed that this move is called the sixth move of doom where John Cena hits a hard punch after posing.

John Cena has earlier used the Attitude Adjustment as his primary finishing move which at times looked believable but to see a superstar getting pinned after being punched by John Cena makes the match's end unoriginal and unexciting. The 16 time World Champion is currently on a hiatus and we hope that he comes up with a better finisher than the sixth move of doom.
