#2 Finn Balor to Smackdown Live

The first ever WWE Universal Champion

It is no secret that Finn Balor is the first ever Universal Champion. (If you did not know that, allow me to introduce you to Michael Cole.) Finn was given the opportunity to carry his NXT momentum onto RAW and hold the brand new Universal Championship. Finn Balor had one of the most successful babyface runs NXT has seen, as was a clear crowd favorite. His win over Seth Rollins at Summerslam in 2016 showed extreme faith from the WWE higher-ups and gave you a clear indication of their perception of his ability and potential. Unfortunately, during the match, he suffered a debilitating injury concerning his shoulder. This forced Balor to walk away from the Championship and was on the shelf until April 2017.

He returned on the RAW after Wrestlemania 33 to a huge reaction but has struggled to regain that momentum ever since. It is has been clearly noted that Vince McMahon no longer saw Balor as a main event player and this has derailed the plans in place. It was reported Balor was set to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble but the plan was nixed.

Finn Balor is extremely well supported by fans around the world, and they are always in support of Finn receiving an opportunity. A move to the blue brand is exactly what Finn needs. A show that is lacking depth in main event stars would greatly appreciate a star like Finn Balor. Balor would immediately add a brand new face in the WWE Championship picture and offers fresh and exciting matchups with stars such as Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, Bobby Roode and Sami Zayn.
