With this win, both Michaels and Nash were now billed as Double Champion with the two being in possession of the Intercontinental Title and the WWF Title respectively. But, Michaels' first run as Double Champion eventually ended within the next day, as they were forced to drop their tag titles back to Hart and Yokozuna.
However, later in his career, Michaels would once again go on to become a dual champion as HBK, on this occasion, captured the European Championship from Davey Boy Smith in front of his hometown before winning (or literally being awarded) with the WWF Title at Survivor Series, 1997.
