As we've seen during their last few trips over there, WWE has a big following in India. They're clearly interested in expanding into the market even more as the years go on, as evidenced by their recent experiment with Jinder Mahal capturing the WWE Championship. There is serious money to be made over there, which will obviously be music to Vinnie Mac's ears.

They aren't short on big stadiums, either, which is also an appealing reason for them to test the waters. It feels like their relationship with the Asian contingent of their fanbase has been growing on an extraordinary level for quite some time now, and there's no better time to pull the trigger on an event like this.
