The Bella Twins, Brie and Nikki, are perhaps two of the most important female Superstars in the WWE in the last decade or so. While they may not have been the best in the ring, they did add something to the WWE product that made them huge stars.

The twins signed their WWE developmental contracts in 2007 and joined the main roster a year later. They lasted a few years in WWE before being released in 2012. They returned to WWE a year later in 2013, and both of them went on to win the Divas Championship.

After establishing themselves away from the ring thanks to their reality TV show, the Bellas quietly retired from in-ring action.

Mickie James

Mickie James is perhaps one of the best women's Superstars that the WWE has seen in the last 15 years or so, having joined the company way back in 2003. After a few intense feuds with top Superstars of the company in the 2000s, she was released in 2010.

She then switched to TNA, where she had more memorable feuds, before returning to WWE in 2016.
