Johnny Gargano and Tomasso Ciampa had a brutal Last Man Standing match this Saturday in Brooklyn. It wasn't as terrific as their earlier two encounters, but isn't one to be missed either.
After the match, Johnny Gargano was seen clutching his knees in excruciating pain he endured in the finishing moments. Many fans assumed that it had been a work given that it plays perfectly to the ACL injury Ciampa suffered at NXT TakeOver: Chicago a year prior.
According to PWInsider.com (H/T: Cagesideseats), Johnny Gargano might be legitimately injured. Tommaso Ciampa retaining the championship was always the plan. However, the finish wasn't supposed to be like that.
Triple H asserted in his conference call that Johnny Gargano was legitimately injured. However, when in doubt whether the segment is a work or not, a WWE official is the last name to ask for confirmation.
