Welcome to the first edition of SKFabe for 2018. If Wrestle Kingdom 2018 was an indication, this will be a great year for fans of sports and entertainment. But let's focus our attention away from NJPW for now. Let's talk about what went on in WWE.
Sure, we know that you follow all the action as it happens in the ring. But do you also keep pace with all the action in the back? If not, SKFabe is where you need to be.
Here is a comprehensive round-up of everything you may have missed out on, this week. Stories from behind the scenes that may just be as interesting as the feuds that play out on screen.
It is our honour and privilege to invite you to the latest edition of SKFabe, the first this year!
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#1 Bayley revealed how Matt Hardy ruined her previous relationship
Bayley caught up with Peter Rosenberg for an episode of Superstar Superfan, where she discussed her obsession with WWE, particularly The Hardy Boyz. She revealed how much she was obsessed with Matt Hardy and had a chance to hug him, as a little girl.
She was in a relationship at the time, but not for very long. This is because following her hug, all she could do was talk about Hardy everywhere. The guy got so annoyed with her going on and on about Matt Hardy that he deleted her from his life for good.
Imagine how thrilled she must be to be on the same roster as him. We wonder what she feels about Matt Hardy's current 'woken' persona!
It's great to see though, that like all of us, Bayley was certainly a big fan of sports entertainment, growing up.
#2 Kevin Nash revealed McMahon's thoughts about today's superstars
We all know that Vince McMahon has been critical of current talent for not grabbing the brass ring. Kevin Nash let us in on a secret, on The Ross Report recently.
A few Wrestlemanias ago, Nash had a chance to converse with his former boss. He asked McMahon his thoughts on today's locker room. This is what McMahon had to say:
And he goes, ‘The thing that’s changed more than anything, [is] back when you broke in here in the fed, it was a shark tank. Like, everybody went after that top prize, and it was a battle. Now, [wrestlers] wait for him to come around with a sword and anoint them.’
Unlike back then, there's no second place to work anymore. We suppose that superstars are far less troublesome now because WWE is make or break for them!
#3 NXT Superstar spotted backstage at SmackDown Live
We know that WWE has major hopes pinned on Kairi Sane. Why else would she be the winner of the first-ever Mae Young Classic Tournament?
We wonder if she's on the fast track to be called up at the moment. Sane was recently spotted backstage on SmackDown Live, posing with two fellow Japanese superstars recently. Will she be a part of the Women's Royal Rumble?
The coming weeks should reveal more in this regard. At this time, she's in a feud with fellow Mae Young Classic tournament finalist, Shayna Baszler.
Everyone would pop big if she did show up at the Royal Rumble, though!
#4 AJ Styles paid tribute to Stone Cold
Stone Cold Steve Austin was the best performer of his generation. AJ Styles is the best performer of ours. Austin has put Styles over, time and again, on his podcast. Styles decided to return the favour.
Following a dark match after SmackDown Live, AJ Styles enjoyed a few cold ones. Except it wasn't beer, it was just water. Check it out right here:
How cool would it have been to see Styles and Austin in a program together? We're certain that in their prime, they could have had quite the big-money feud.
#5 Daniel Bryan spoke about his comeback
If you were wondering whether Daniel Bryan will be a part of WrestleMania this year, presumably in a match against Shane McMahon, this is what he told Sports Illustrated recently.
I assume that if I don’t wrestle by WrestleMania, I probably won’t be wrestling with WWE at all…That’s my assumption.
He added that there was far more to the situation than a simple yes or no!
It’s not a black and white answer…There are a lot of issues with me getting cleared by WWE (and) they have a very strict protocol, which is a good thing, but the timeline of all that happening was not the best for me (and) it’s an interesting situation that will develop.
We're certain that everyone wants to see Daniel Bryan in the ring again, including WWE. Let's all hope for the best.
#6 Carmella removed all her Big Cass social media references
Nothing in the world lasts forever. From all indications, it looks like the Big Cass-Carmella relationship may be in trouble. Carmella has taken down all mentions of Big Cass from her Instagram account. She even stopped following him on Twitter, quite recently.
We do hope that the couple is running through a rough patch and that things will be back to normal yet again. Big Cass and Carmella have been together right from their NXT days, and this could be bad news. Our best wishes go out to the two lovely, amazing superstars!
#7 Great news from the 'It' Couple
The Miz is slated to come back in full force, next week on RAW. He's also excited about his soon-to-be-born baby girl. However, this is not his big news. Instead, this is...
The Miz and Maryse have a new house; one they've decided to call Castle MarMiz. As goofy as that sounds, only these two can pull it off.
Congratulations to the most must-see couple on today's roster. We cannot wait to find out what's in store when The Miz returns next week.
On this extremely happy note, we end this week's edition of SKFabe.
