10 stars WWE should sign for the Cruiserweight Division

Current WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJ Perkins

There's a lot of buzz and excitement surrounding the newly reformed WWE Cruiserweight Division. With the success of the Cruiserweight Classic, bankrolled into their own, unique division, things appear to be more promising now, than ever before, for this select group of under 205er's.

As the division moves forward, with TJ Perkins as the current Cruiserweight Champion and perennial leader of the pack, this exciting division looks as if it is in good hands, especially considering the quality of contenders chasing after that purple strap.

But with that said, the day will likely come when the company will surely look at the possibility of having the division compete in both Raw and Smackdown.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

If that is indeed the case, WWE's recruiting powers that be will be forced to scour the landscape of professional wrestling, in search of more top-tier stars to compete solely in the Cruiserweight Division.

So, who could they pick up, in the event of there being a need for more Cruiserweight talent? The one key qualifier needed in order to compete for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship is that you must be 205 lbs or less. That one critical component is something that could prove to make things difficult in a global talent search.

However, there are plenty of great potential superstars in that weight classification. Here's a look at the top 10 Cruiserweights that I would make an effort to sign.

#10 Tigre Uno

Globally known and respected.

Tigre Uno has been lighting it up with TNA, competing against the others in the X-Division. Not only has he already held the TNA X-Division title, Uno has also held the AAA Cruiserweight Championship two times as well.

Uno possesses a plethora of unique manoeuvres which he's capable of executing from anywhere in the building, including the top rope, which happens to be one of his favourite places in the ring.

His famed finisher is something that all contenders fear, The Sabertooth Splash. This is basically a corkscrew version of the 450 splash, which is just as beautiful as it is effective.

Tigre Uno would fit perfectly into the Cruiserweight Division and would very likely be an immediate title contender.

#9 ACH

ACH has the experience needed to come in and make an immediate impact

ACH is a 28-year-old star, currently signed with Ring of Honor, but has also seen a good deal of success with Dragon Gate USA, PWG, CZW and a host of indie promotions all over the world.

Standing in at 5'9", weighing 190 pounds, ACH is the perfect size for the division. His style is unlike anything we are used to witnessing. Of course, he's quick and agile, but he's also incredibly strong, with dynamite striking abilities. I've often dubbed his style as an aerial strong-style.

If WWE starts the search for new Cruiserweight talent, ACH is the perfect guy to begin with!

8. Chris Sabin

Sabin is versatile enough to compete as a Cruiserweight, or as a Heavyweight

Not too long ago, Chris Sabin was THE guy at TNA. He was the reigning TNA World Heavyweight Champion and life was grand for the top star.

Sabin is someone who finds himself in a very fortunate position, being 5'11" and 205 pounds. Sabin has the ability and experience necessary to compete with the heavyweights and even super-heavyweights. However, he's also just the right size to squeeze into the newly resurrected WWE Cruiserweight Division.

The Cruiserweight Division could benefit from someone as well travelled and battle tested as Chris Sabin. Not only that but once his services are complete with that division, he is more than capable of jumping into the deep end, with the big boys.

#7 Cheeseburger

Cheeseburger would be an instant hit with the fans

As his name implies, Cheeseburger is someone who doesn't always take life all too seriously. With that said, he's more than capable of turning on the serious face and handling business.

Cheeseburger is one of Ring of Honor's most loved characters. Standing at 5'8" and a lean 136 pounds, he's definitely within the weight range qualifications. Burger has had some really good matches recently with Jay Lethal and both members of reDRagon, just to name a couple.

He's also seen success in Japan as well, sharing a ring with the likes of Japanese Cruiserweight legend Jushin Liger.

#6 Chase Owens

The Bullet Clubs newest prodigy

He's the newest member of the baddest faction on the planet, NJPW's Bullet Club and if you know anything about that particular stable, you know all too well that they don't take just any scrub off the bottom of the barrel.

For several years now, Chase Owens has been one of the top indie stars on the entire south and south-east region of the United States. Owens has held several NWA titles over the years, including the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Championship, which he's had three times, for a total of over 600 days.

Chase is only 26 years old and still has his best days yet to come. At 205 pounds, he's capable of coming in and competing anywhere needed, including the Cruiserweight Division.

#5 Jason Kincaid

One match is all it takes to prove why he's known as "The Gift."

Jason "The Gift" Kincaid is one of the top independent stars anywhere in the world.

Kincaid recently landed a spot on the ROH roster and has used that platform to showcase his abilities to the masses. As noted by his name, this guy is certainly "gifted" in the ring. He's innovated a number of incredible manoeuvres and mastered many existing moves.

Kincaid is very unique and someone who will make you a believer the very first time you seem him put someone in a "Death From Above," which is a variant of the Tree of Woe.

Kincaid and Chase Owens have had some memorable battles over the years and both of those guys would be tremendous additions to the WWE roster.

#4 DJ Z

This guy is extremely exciting in the ring

DJ Z came into TNA as a project, so to speak. Already having some quality experience with various indie promotions, as well as in Mexico, DJ Z wasn't a rookie by any stretch of the imagination. He is the current X Division Champion in TNA.

After his run with the BroMans, TNA began to really take him seriously. Soon after, he was in the running for the X-Division Championship. At this point in his career, he's held that very title two times, as well as having also won the X-Division tournament. This is a guy who would certainly be an exciting addition to an already thriving division.

#3 Will Ospreay

Ospreay is ready to show the Americans what he's capable of

The pride of Essex, this UK phenom has been setting the world on fire ever since his 2012 debut. He's years ahead of himself, in regards to in-ring development and overall maturity. At only 23 years old, the sky is the limit for Will Ospreay.

Ospreay is a lean 174 pounds, packed into his 6'1" frame, but has the ability to perform with the heavyweights. Pro Wrestling Illustrated ranked Will number 16 out of the top 500 wrestlers in the world, in the 2016 PWI 500.

Ospreay has had a tonne of success in the UK, as well as in Japan. Now it's time for him to take a shot at the true big leagues of professional wrestling in the WWE.

#2 Zack Sabre Jr.

It's only a matter of time before this guy is a household name

Standing at 6 foot even and weighing in at 181 pounds, Zack Sabre Jr. is another star from the UK, looking expand his fan base, so-to-speak. However, Zack has already expanded his reach far beyond the coasts of his native Isle of Sheppey, which happens to be less than 50 miles outside of London.

Zack is the current PWG World Champion, the same company where he also won the 2015 Battle of Los Angeles. Sabre was numbered 28 in the 2016 PWI 500.

#1 Ricochet (Prince Puma)

Ricochet has an extremely high ceiling

If you have witnessed this guy in action, you got your money’s worth for that night.

This guy simply doesn’t appear to be human with some of the spectacular manoeuvres he's been able to pull off. In Lucha Underground, he's known as the guy under the yellow mask we all refer to as Prince Puma. Most everywhere else, he's simply as Ricochet.

Regardless of what you call him, he's been nothing short of absolutely amazing throughout his young career.

Earlier in 2016, Ricochet competed in a 6-man tag team match with Matt Sydal and Will Ospreay in his corner. Together, their team defeated Adam Cole and The Young Bucks of the Bullet Club. That particular match was awarded a rare 5-star match ranking by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
