While Steve Borden would join Jim Crockett productions and wrestle for the NWA, Hellwig went to WCCW. Upon seeing Hellwig's jacked up body, Ted Dibiase said he looked 'like a warrior.' Donning facepaint, Hellwig became the Dingo Warrior.
