Let's get one thing straight; we think WWE paying homage to Andre the Giant with a special match is a good thing. It honors Andre's memory, and his legacy as one of the most dominant battle royal participants in wrestling history.
However, Andre deserves better than this lackluster, often disappointing slugfest that features all of the wrestlers WWE doesn't have any specific plans for. Do you want proof of how meaningless this battle royal is? The previous winners have been Mojo Rawley, Matt Hardy, Cesaro, and Baron Corbin.
While none of these men are doing poorly--with the possible exception of Rawley--winning the Andre the Giant memorial battle royal didn't do anything to help their careers, either.
On a wrestling program that is already running over three hours, you need to trim the fat, and the Andre the Giant battle royal would best be moved to either the go-home edition of Raw or the Raw immediately following Wrestlemania.
