10 times wrestlers were caught on camera calling for moves

Cena and Dolph can now figure out a plan of action

Most Wrestlers have to improvise throughout a match

In the world of professional wrestling there has to be improvisation during a match. What’s strange about pro-wrestling is the fact that some people enjoy labelling it as “fake” and entirely scripted, but in truth wrestler don’t get to rehearse for their match’s usually. There’s no second chances for them either, it’s usually the one take and that’s it. It's not like a fight scene in a movie, where the performers may spend weeks working out the choreography, yet every move needs both wrestlers cooperating perfectly or somebody's neck will get broken. That means the performers need to talk to one another.

Ever watch a match and notice how one wrestler will do a move where he's kind of just holding the other guy's head for a bit, maybe in a side headlock or an armbar, for no particular reason? This frequently used move is called a rest hold. Not only does this give the wrestlers a chance to take a breather, but they can also communicate with each other about what the next spots will be. This is either to remind the other wrestler what's coming up.

#10 Batista calls for the Tombstone

Batista needed that tombstone in a hurry

On a WWE Bragging Rights PPV, The Undertaker and Batista squared off in a fatal-4-way match.

Coming towards the end of the match the Undertaker hits a chokeslam on Batista. If you listen closely enough to when the footage angles at the undertaker standing above Batista, you can clearly make out the Undertaker asking Batista “You alright?” Batista responds with “No”, and then as Undertaker pins him you can clearly make out Batista telling him “You gotta hit me with the tombstone.”

Its clear that the Animal is hurt and wants to finish the match there and then. It also says a lot about the Undertaker as a performer being able to know when something isn’t quite right.

#9 Batista and John Cena call some spots.

The moment the two greats were caught calling moves

At Wrestlemania 26, John Cena and Batista fought in a one on one match for the WWE title.

During the match as Batista tries to restrain John. Cena attempts to pull Batista’s arm aprat to make himself free. It is quite obvious that you can hear Cena telling Batista to “hold on,” in other words take his time, and just as the hold is broken Cena mutters the words “hit my back.”

It’s pretty easy to make out the two stars calling there moves during this moment in the match. Two of the top stars in WWE at the time got caught calling their moves mid match. We all get caught sometimes I suppose.

#8 Chris Jericho calls on RVD

Not once but twice for these guys

During the 2001 Survivor series match between team WWE and team WCW, Chris Jericho knocks RVD to the ground. After bouncing off of the ropes it can be heard that Jericho utters the word “neckbreaker” as he looks down at RVD on the mat.

Sure enough RVD stands up, Jericho bounces off the next rope and hits RVD with the neckbreaker he could be heard telling RVD to take.

During the same match it’s also a good point to note the same to superstars were caught again conversing in the ring. When RVD plants Jericho to the mat you can hear Jericho say “Slow down, take it easy.”

#7 Cena tells Punk to kick him.

Bitter Enemies

During a match between CM Punk and John Cena on Raw Cena is clearly heard telling punk to “Kick him.”

Cena Bounces Punk off of the ropes and waits for Punk to come back around bent over and Punk stops and smack Cena right in the chest.

I bet the words “kick me” coming from Cena’s mouth were like music to Punks ears.

#6 Cena tells Seamus to elbow him

The fist of an Irish warrior

Yep, Cena again calling the shots. He must be pretty fond of getting caught on camera.

During a match between Cena and Seamus in a steel cage at Money in the Bank, Cena can be heard telling Seamus to “elbow” him in the corner.

Cena Whips Sheamus from one corner of the cage to the next and as Cena runs towards him, sure enough, Sheamus hits Cena right in the kisser with a huge Irish elbow.

#5 HHH calls a spot on Rey Mysterio

HHH is taken down by Rey Mysterio

During the 2006 Royal Rumble match (the one Rey won), Rey Mysterio had just made his elimination with a hurricanrna and was sitting at the ground with his head starring out the bottom rope. HHH can be seen crawling up behind him and shouts “Spinebuster into Rey’s ears.

Just as HHH called it Rey stood up and ran towards HHH only to be hoisted into the air and planted on the mat with a spinebuster.

#4 Bret Hart and Rowdy Rody Piper

Two of the greatest the business has seen

During a match between the two greats of the business, the late Rody Piper felt as though he would have to make sure the move he was going for would be executed properly.

As Piper had Bret in a headlock in the corner turnbuckle, if listened to closely, Piper can be heard issuing the word “Bulldog” to Bret. He then pulls Bret forward and delivers an old school Bulldog to bret the Hitman Hart.

#3 Shawn tells Ric to stay down

Shawn sets the pace for this one

During the brilliant match between Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair at Wrestlemania 24, Shawn can be heard telling Ric to “stay down, take your time.”

Shawn was just after hitting Ric Flair with an elbow drop from the top rope and it was pretty obvious that Shawn was trying to set the tempo for an upcoming sweet chin music to the Nature boy.

Well that or, Shawn wanted a breather considering the immense pain his ribs looked to be in at the time.

#2 The Miz calls the shots

The Miz calls all the shots

During a match between the Miz and Jerry Lawler on Raw, the Miz was clearly heard telling The King to “Sit Up”, twice.

The Miz calling the shots to a veteran like Jerry the King Lawler just didn’t feel right. It was made worse because of the fact that it was so blatantly obvious. It’s almost as though he didn’t want to hid the fact he was calling the move.

Sure enough though Jerry did sit up and Miz ended up smacking him with his boot right in his chest.

#1 Big Show calls the eliminations

Just as the Big Show predicted

During a Royal Rumble match in 2004 the Big show lay on his back in the middle of the ring. He had a plethora of WWE superstars holding him from every angle. Before anybody could try and lift him you can hear the Big Show mutter “Cena first and the RVD.”

It’s almost as if the big man himself was psychic, as he called the eliminations to a tee. First he threw John Cena over the top rope and that was soon followed by RVD being unceremoniously being thrown of the corner of the ring.
