Punk stepped in and saved Joey Mercury

CM Punk has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons over the past few years since he walked away from WWE back in 2014. And it seems that the WWE Universe has forgotten the good that Punk did whilst he was part of WWE.

Punk helped a number of WWE stars through the Straight Edge Society, but most notably his friend Joey Mercury. The former Tag Team Champion was battling a drug addiction that almost cost him his home until Punk stepped in and loaned him the money to save himself.

Punk later helped his friend to get clean and brought him back to WWE as a member of the Straight Edge Society, Mercury has since gone on to have another lengthy stint in WWE thanks to CM Punk over the past few years.
