The headlining match of the show was a WWE Championship Match between defending champion The Rock and number-1 contender "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. The conclusion of this matchup and WrestleMania 17 as a whole shall always go down as one of the more memorable occurrences in professional wrestling history.
The aforementioned contest was a "No Disqualification" matchup--one which saw both Rocky and Austin bend the rules to the maximum. It was towards the latter half of the showdown, that Vince McMahon aka Mr. McMahon--Austin's arch nemesis--assisted Austin in his bid to defeat The Rock.
McMahon handed Austin a steel chair--following which, Austin proceeded to savagely beat up The Rock--defeating the latter and capturing the WWE Championship. Austin and McMahon then engaged in one of the most iconic "Stone Cold" beer-drinking celebrations of all time.
