Kenny Omega signed with WWE’s Deep South Wrestling developmental territory in 2006, but his stay with the company was brief. He was not a fan of the training methods of Bob Holly and Bill DeMott, and he requested his release.

WWE couldn’t have predicted Omega’s meteoric rise back then because it took him a while to reach his peak. ‘The Cleaner’ is now the biggest name in professional wrestling and is the best wrestler in the world at the moment. WWE surely regret allowing a future megastar to slip through their fingers.
It’s a good thing Omega decided to leave because he would have failed in WWE’s rigid developmental system. Needless to say, this was one big opportunity missed by WWE.
WWE offered him a contract in 2016 which he refused, but there are rumours that Omega will make his way to WWE when in contract with NJPW expires in 2018. This is just one of those times when WWE failed to recognize a wrestler's true potential.

Sunil admires former world champions AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega for their ability to consistently deliver great matches as well as entertain crowds with their mic skills.
If ever given a chance to change a storyline, Sunil would have booked Roman Reigns to end The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak instead of Brock Lesnar. According to him, The Tribal Chief needed the victory more than Brock Lesnar, as the latter was already an established performer when he defeated ‘Taker. He would’ve also made that as Taker’s final match.
Always focused on making his work accurate and reliable, Sunil thoroughly checks his facts before writing his articles. When not writing for pro wrestling, he spends his time watching cricket.
