Knox was given a primo spot on the ECW roster, playing Kelly Kelly's on-screen boyfriend. Then he transferred to SmackDown and while he had an intriguing gimmick he never got over with fans. He was released by the company and worked for TNA and Inoki pro wrestling in Japan.
Why the WWE doesn't need his services: Knox is big and powerful, but so is Braun Strowman, and Strowman has become quite popular with fans. He serves a better role in Japan where his massive size plays off the smaller Japanese wrestlers, and WWE doesn't really need him at all at this stage of the game.
